A lead can match every criterion on paper and still not be emotionally or strategically ready to buy.

Qualification is a checkbox. Readiness is a state.

The common mistake

Treating qualification as a proxy for intent. They have the budget, the role, the business size, so they must be ready.

The sharper reframe

Readiness includes the buyer's clarity about their own problem, their belief that change is possible, and their willingness to act now. None of that lives in a form field.

What this means for high-ticket coaches

Design the funnel to surface readiness, not just qualification. Ask questions that reveal how the buyer is thinking, not just what they look like on paper.
